Each year in May, the College of Engineering has its Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet for the Minority Engineering Recruiting and Retention Program. This banquet recognizes the extraordinary students of MERRP and their academic accomplishments. In addition, it recognizes the incredible members of NSBE and SHPE for their dedication and involvement in the respective engineering societies.
This year, the MERRP Scholarship Awards Banquet will take place on Friday, May 13th 2016 starting at 6 pm in the Student Services Building (SSB). Donations can be made HERE.

UIC Summer College is a collection of programs aimed at easing your transition from high school to college. UIC Summer College is tuition FREE.
You can take Summer College courses to help you earn a higher placement in math, chemistry, and writing — a great head start for your success at UIC .
UIC Summer College students make friends, learn their way around UIC campus, and get to know about UIC’s many student resources. You’ll learn to call the UIC campus home before those first hectic days of the fall semester.

A UIC Summer College program, the Preparation for Majoring in Engineering (PrepME) Workshop creates a positive, motivating, welcoming classroom environment for incoming freshmen while priming them for the challenges of engineering. Participants will receive a mathematics refresher in pre-calculus, fundamental concepts in engineering, and a culturally focused and enriching interaction with corporate sponsors during the five-week session.To familiarize students with UIC’s institutional structure and campus personnel of the College of Engineering, on-campus technical and academic resources are introduced throughout the summer session. This workshop is FREE to all incoming freshman.
This year, PrepME will take place starting June 20th and end July 29th, 2016. Registration will open May 6th and all interested incoming freshmen can find more information here.
